Finding Joy Through Intentional Action

Welcome.

About Us

Hello There-

My name is Kaitlyn Anderson and I am a clinician and owner of Seek Joy Counseling Services. As a counselor of ten years, I have found my passion in helping individuals improve their mood, increase self-esteem, and build healthy relationships. I am a clinically licensed professional counselor with years of experience in private practice, residential, and day treatment settings. I received my undergraduate degree from The University of Illinois at Chicago in Psychology and Criminology. I, then went on to receive my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College in 2015.

Having needed my own therapist periodically throughout my life, I knew I wanted to pay my own experience forward and provide a space for all who I would see that is welcoming, safe, and empathetically understanding. It is my belief that those three characteristics, provide a foundation to therapy for individuals to make profound changes to their life.

My practice focuses on helping people who are working through eating disorders, mood disorders, and trauma. I am very client-centered in my approach-utilizing evidence-based practices to assist individuals in building awareness of how one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all inter-connected, then re-centering one’s life compass by guiding them back to their values. I provide a compassionate environment where you can begin to heal and learn ways of approaching life obstacles in a new and productive way.

Hi!

My name is Renee Lukos. My path into counseling began with a personal calling to support individuals navigating their darkest seasons. I recognize that life is deeply challenging, many people lack a strong support system, and it is easy to lose hope. My heart goes out to those who are hurting, and that empathy fuels my passion to help. I want to walk alongside my clients when they need it most. I believe true healing happens when we address the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I have witnessed many people find lasting transformation through the hard, rewarding work of therapy, and it is an honor to be a part of that process.

I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Wheaton College and bring almost a decade of clinical experience. I specialize in supporting individuals and couples as they navigate the complexities of anxiety, depression, relational hurt, and communication breakdowns. Whether you are moving through grief or managing major life transitions, I am here to help you. My approach combines evidence-based techniques such as CBT, client-centered therapy, and narrative therapy to create a strong foundation for your growth. For clients who wish to incorporate their faith into sessions, I welcome that. Ultimately, I am here to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for your journey toward hope and healing.

Something I always want my clients to know is: you are stronger than you think! I am passionate about seeing lives transformed through sound clinical practice and deep personal resilience. If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from your purpose, let’s navigate the path forward together. I would be more than happy to help you rediscover your strength and hope. You are not alone! Let’s take this first step together.
